About this product..

When you order our King scallops they will come in a 1.8 kg box and will be delivered to your door deep frozen to ensure a longer shelf life. Freezing fish and seafood as early as possible is best practice and will help to preserve them. Scallops are an extravagant and delicious shellfish with a delicate taste that can be found in a range of sizes. We offer the larger, king sized Scallops and they have already been removed from their fan-shaped shells. The firm white flesh comes with the edible Orange and Cream coral (or roe) attached.

About 4 or 5 king scallops are recommended per person for a hearty meal. Scallops are perfect for steaming in aromatics and wine just like mussels. Alternatively they can be grilled or fried gently until firm. They will be ready for serving as soon as they become opaque and firm to the touch. Always be careful not to overcook them as their flavour and texture is quite delicate. King scallops are typically harvested in the colder waters of the North Atlantic. They are known for their large size (typically 2-3 inches in diameter) and sweet, delicate flavor. King scallops are usually sold shucked, meaning the meat is removed from the shell. They are a versatile ingredient that can be served raw, grilled, sautéed, or breaded and deep-fried. Scallops work well with many well known hearty flavours such as bacon, black pudding and cabbage. If you want to add an Iberian touch serve them with chorizo or wrapped in prosciutto instead. Scallops are incredibly versatile and are often found in Asian dishes along with flavours such as ginger, coriander and watercress. They are considered a delicacy and are often served as an appetizer or main course.

King scallops can be prepared in a variety of ways, but here are a few popular methods:
